Ramón Arístides Agüero (born December 21, 1984) is a Dominican professional minor baseball pitcher in the Texas Rangers organization. He is on the 40-man roster of the Rangers. He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Agüero began his professional career in 2007 with the DSL Pirates, going 1-1 with a 3.41 ERA in eight games (four starts). With the DSL Pirates again in 2008, he went 5-2 with a 2.26 ERA in 16 games (13 starts), striking out 81 batters in 75 2/3 innings of work. He played for the State College Spikes in 2008, going 1-10 with a 6.75 ERA in 15 games (10 starts). In 2009, he played for three teams - the West Virginia Power, the Lynchburg Hillcats and the Altoona Curve - going a combined 2-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 39 games (three starts). He played for the Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve in 2010, going a combined 2-5 with a 6.14 ERA in 25 relief appearances.[1] On March 31, 2011, Agüero was designated for assignment by Pittsburgh. On April 8, 2011, Agüero was claimed off waivers by Texas.
